Management Team
Gary Willms
President
Mr. Gary Willms was appointed President of MV Sales and Leasing, Inc. in September 2009. He brings an impressive background to this project, including more than 30 years experience in transportation manufacturing.
Prior to joining MVSL, Mr. Willms worked with ISE Corporation, joining them in September 2005 as Vice President, Business Development, responsible for business development, sales, marketing, bids, publications and communications – including the company’s web site. Prior to ISE, he was Neoplan USA’s Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Program Management. He has also worked for the Gillig Corporation, initially as Purchasing Manager and then as Manager of Transportation Marketing. Gary is an active member of a variety of APTA’s Business Member’s Committees, and was a member of APTA’s BMBG and Board of Directors.
Prior to entering the transportation industry, Mr. Willms spent 12 years on active duty as a Navy Pilot with two tours in Vietnam. He also spent 14 years in the Navy Reserve serving as Commander on the Carrier Group Admiral’s Staff based out of Alameda, Calif.
Mr. Willms holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, and a Master’s degree in Geophysics from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, Calif.
Michael E. Hennessy
Vice President of Sales
Mr. Michael Hennessy joined MV Sales and Leasing, Inc. in February as the Executive Account Manager for the Central and Southeast regions. Mr. Hennessy brings 38 years of experience in the transportation industry, both public and private sectors, and has extensive experience in maintenance, operations and sales.
Mr. Hennessy spent 29 years at the Chicago Transit Authority and held a number of senior level positions, including Superintendent of Maintenance and General Manager of Bus Operations for two of CTA’s Bus Garages. He served as Regional Director for Transmatic, Inc., and was the Regional Sales Manager for ISE, Corp. where his responsibilities included business development, sales and service.
Michael is an active member of APTA and has held a number of leadership positions on several committees, including the International Bus Roadeo, the International Bus Maintenance Roadeo, and the Bus Operations Committee. He also serves on the Bus Safety Committee, Bus Technical Maintenance Committee, Clean Propulsion & Support Technology Committee, the Program Planning Committee and a number of Bus Standard working groups.
Gregory A. Chornak
Vice President of Sales
Mr. Gregory Chornak is Executive Account Manager, Western Region, for MV Sales and Leasing. He is responsible for business development and management of sales and customer support for the MV-1 vehicle in 13 western states, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Mr. Chornak has more than 33 years of experience in the transportation industry in both the public and private sectors. For the past 20 years, he has been involved in the private sector as a sales and business development professional serving the transportation industry throughout the western U.S. and Canada. During this time he has represented key bus and rail transit product and system suppliers. He has also introduced new companies and technologies to the industry. Some of the technologies he participated in bringing to the transportation industry include LED signs, lighting systems and advertising displays, advanced passenger information systems, on-board digital recording systems and front door wheelchair lifts.
Prior to his sales career, Mr. Chornak served in management, purchasing, and maintenance roles with transportation agencies including Los Angeles MTA, North County Transit District and Greater Cleveland RTA. Throughout his career, Greg has actively participated in APTA and CUTA, as well as various regional and state transit associations throughout the western United States.
Devin Ikenberry
Vice President of Business Development
Mr. Devin Ikenberry is Bid Manager for MV Sales and Leasing, Inc. He joined in July, and brings more than 25 years of experience in the transportation industry.
Prior to joining MVSL, Mr. Ikenberry was with North American Bus Industries, Inc. (NABI) for fifteen years, where he held various positions in Material Control, Purchasing, and Sales and Bid Administration. He began his career with NABI in 1995 as a Buyer, and eventually held the position of Director of Bid Administration until July, 2010.
Devin also worked at Transportation Manufacturing Corporation (TMC) and Air-Draulics Company in New Mexico for over ten years.
Prior to entering the transportation industry, Mr. Ikenberry served for three years in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He also spent three years in the U.S. Army Reserve.
